Blasphemy
I should be nailed to the cross for blasphemy
I should be stoned because I've been racist
Throw me in jail for the crimes in my head
Punish me because I once was ageist...
But I'm not like that now, that was the youth in me
With wisdom comes maturity and grace
Every mans soul shines bright like a star
Regardless of the colour of his face
I walk amongst greatness also amongst the poor
The rich and all who fit in between
No colour of skin or different language spoken
Will change my views now that I've seen...
Beauty in every face that smiles at me
Wisdom in every fragile voice
Wonder in every man, woman and child
Goodness even if they have no choice...
I'd like to be like one of those people
My red, yellow or black fellow man
So I will keep a heartfelt smile on my face
And continue to do the best that I can.
