In the Interest of Sin

You know, if the devil would tell us what we're really in for, nobody would ever be tempted.
But he makes it interesting and inviting and fun and exciting, as though we'll be exempted.

And before we realize that it is a trap, the hook is in our mouth or the jaws are clamped voraciously upon our leg.
Because the demons never drag us into hell kicking and screaming, so we'll never have to beg.

Instead, we go willingly with them hand-in-hand, skipping and dancing, laughing and singing.
And we've forgotten all the sermons and fallen so far away that we can't hear the church bells ringing.

But the devil, oh she was a beautiful sight to see
Especially when she smiled and winked at me.

The preacher said, "Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay,"
It is fun while it last, but "it'll cost you more than you want to pay."
