A Love That Makes Time Travel Possible

The First Poem

Though I am wrapped around you,
With you,
As you drift in
and around
That fickle maiden steals you up,
Yet will have nothing to do with me.
I am left alone with my thoughts.
          Alone with the street sounds,
                 leaking through the blinds.
We stay reluctant to acknowledge the daylight
as it beckons on the other side.

The Second Poem

The weight of you on my lap
Was no weight at all.
In slumber you sank in,
As I was washed with light.
White light swallowed city clang
And I swear the air around us sang
With the serenade of that city clang.
I awoke when it happened again.
And there we were still laying down
When I wrote a second poem for the one I love.

These two poems are each published separately as well. They are two of the earliest poems that I published on this site. I wanted to give them a place where they could be read together.
