the darkness rage inside the greed
needing form it sought its Queen
visions of night's glory defamed
blame it on the hurt inside, ravenous she bites
the dark grew hungry it will not be denied
times two it hunts the unwary
picking which soul to descend upon
hexed and besotten they gather
a mob cheering for their own slaughter
their captors perform deadly rituals before them
not seeing, they applaud in beat with the music
their lasts rites given
into the nine circles, they are bidden
a feast for the fury they die inside his kingdom
a demon's delight
new souls to plunder
more fuel for the fire
they scream in unison

....I am so intrigued by your dark and thought provoking poetry. You have an uncanny way, no matter how horrid to shine a light on beautiful poetry simply by shear poetic flair.

Completely agree with Ron, absolutely awesome, dark moving, and powerful. For me the imagery is stunning and every word is perfectly placed all the way from the title. People so easily led by evil into the nine circles of hell. Hurt, lust, revenge, sin, suffering, fire, rituals, magic, hell, anger, music, death, demons; you have a hell of a lot going on in this one.

good morning beautiful Kristina thank you graciously you know when I wrote this it just came to me...not until you pointed it out did I realize there was so much going on in it...really it's kind of a short poem to be addressing so much I deeply appreciate you sharing what you saw in it 💕

That's just the sign of a beautiful mind that you can incorporate so much effortlessly; although surely a sign of someone who has faced tremendous adversity and trials as well but those are the minds with the greatest depth. It would take a much longer comment to truly explore the possible meanings and symbolism in each aspect of this. Especially considering the brevity, it is truly incredible.

Couldn't help but think of the Salem witch trials for a second but also with something more dark and sinister. You really knocked this one out of the park with painting so true vivid themes.
