caught up in a coffee moment
(1)
the kettle taunts with its charm
and I know I shouldn't, it's past midnight
you smell so good, like home
(2)
morning kissed me, the tv blinked
brushing it away, I unfurled from the chair
yawning and creaking like old wood
(3)
plodded to the kitchen, in lazy floppy bed socks
fresh water, flick of the switch
one more cup of coffee
the kettle taunts with its charm
and I know I shouldn't, it's past midnight
you smell so good, like home

brushing it away, I unfurled from the chair
yawning and creaking like old wood

plodded to the kitchen, in lazy floppy bed socks
fresh water, flick of the switch
one more cup of coffee

The intimacy is in the details, terrific economy and subtle emotional presence in lovely proportion and equipoise. It is always a pleasure to cruise your surfaces Anita.

Thank you Daniel. I do this so often that it seemed fitting to write about it. :)

Most people over 20 probably have some level of appreciation for the life fuel that is coffee lol especially in the winter months, a hot cuppa is like a sauna in your mouth. That simile is kinda funky. *facepalm 😂

I have the addiction too, but oh that aroma. The creaking like old wood resonated too – as I haven’t found the right combination of linseed oil to fix! Maybe some whiskey (or grappa) in my coffee will help. : )

I think the aroma of coffee will always be my comfort place. I mix oils, but nothing to fix creaking...yet. Thank you for visiting DaVinci. :)
