Comprehend It

I’ve never met anyone that could comprehend it
The paradox in the composition of me
And they’re all saying “Trust me”
Like they’ll be the trampoline
To bounce me back into their reality

And I’m falling all alone
Fingerprints imprinting on cooling skin
When I can’t make the blood heat
In the veins of the ones
I always leave behind

And I hear the words
“You’re not alone, you’re never alone”
So show me what it means to be alone
When the world loves you
Just the way you are

And I’ve never met anyone that could comprehend it
I’ve never met anyone that could understand
‘Cause it’s not like cancer, I’m not sick
And I’m not dying
Not when I’m already dead inside

And it’s all in my cerebrum
A notion, a truth, a lie
A reality unwanted when the scripture burns
My skin from my flesh
And deems me unclean

I’m going under like a suicide
That won’t bring that black relief
And the sun doesn’t shine quite so bright
When I don’t want to be…
And I don’t get to choose

‘Cause I’ve never met anyone that could comprehend it
And they’re all saying “You’ll be okay”
Just one day, one step, one moment at a time
And I don’t believe them
When the coloured threads mean nothing at all
