The Dragon

"When something is for you there is a villain inside you that won't let it go. "  - Trent Shelton

The Dragon curls up with its treasure and
Keys to doors that lead to
Success, love and happiness

Hope is fragile like butterfly wings
Paper thin and colorful
Change appearing in various ways
It, this captivity, threatens to break me down

Inside a place I keep attempting to leave
Hope is known to be as fragile as wings

Building up a tempest of emotion
A gale that strengthens with
Desire to dwell on inner hellions and
Capture the keys in the dragon's nest

The tempest of emotions let go
Letting go so the dragon could be distracted by the prospect of collecting the colorful emotions
The precious stones

Bringing the dragon to a greedy feast
Leaving a path to a door free

Numb and flying into an uneasy forest
Following the tracks left by spiritual guides
Abandoning the dragon with it's
Pilfered treasure while building a new world
A world free of poison and hostility

Releasing a greedy dragon who is hell-bent on possessing and collecting
Stolen bones and captivating emotional gems
Convinced the skeletons would be beautiful
Adorned with treasures

All the while aware of a sick dark pull to the familiar protection of the dragon but also knowing there is no future of the
Past agonies are kept close like treasure
