rain

hearts beat slower
in love's last
twilight

cold hands hold
roses of
waste

fire hydrant piss
themselves in
a drunken
tirade

and the world lives in it's
petty imagination
of self righteous
indignation

hippos swimming in
warm rivers

hypocrites swimming
thru incongruence

Hippocrates swimming
through the dark purple
centuries

while the rest of us
are just trying to
swim thru the
shit

but it sure beats
drowning
