A Fallen Soldier

 A Fallen Soldier

Whenever a soldier falls
Where ever,
On whatever land
For his country
Or whichever motherland
There,
Some mother's heart bleeds
A lady's life shatters
Some kids become orphans
A father loses his last hope
Some lose their brother
Few lose, their,
Brave and Dear Friend.
Whenever a soldier falls,
Country loses,
A real hero of a mother land.

He was a trained soldier
Stood tall on the country's guard
To protect his country,
and his country's pride.
He doesn't hate anyone,
Like a barbarous terrorist.
He doesn't kill innocents,
Like a psychopath militant.
A soldier loves his country,
Far more than his own life.
He doesn't bear grudges,
Even for his counterpart.
He just fights for his country
For safety of his country clan

He may be a rival soldier
Do not mock, for he is fallen.
If you can't shed a tear,
Don't laugh over his remains.
Revere his bravery
Do not titter over his gear.
Hail his chivalry, for he faught,
untill, he breath his last.
Rejoice your victory.
Don't redicule his defeat.
He is a fallen soldier,
Salute and honour him,
With the *Last Post*.
Pray him a place in heaven,
For his rest in peace.
For his supreme sacrifice.

Col Vasant Ballewar

Footnote:
*Last Post*: The "Last Post" is bugle call used at military funerals, and ceremonies commemorating those who have lost their lives in war.

Author's Note
This poem is my tribute to every fallen soldier on the Earth, for the motherland. It touched my heart when a phlegmatic news anchor on TV channel mocked over a rival soldier's death recently. Appeal: Please do not mock over a soldier's death. Even if he is from a rival country. This was taught by Lord Krishna in The Bhagwat Geeta too.
