Happy new year?
It's a new year
Amazed and astonished
That I'm still here
Despite my best efforts
To find a hasty demise
I awkwardly awaken
To find I still have time
Each year that passes
My grip seems to loosen
And with incompetent ignorance
I still can't fathom what I'm losing
So with an inexperienced clumsiness
I'll walk through this world
Foolishly dumbfounded
By the logic of
Why me?

Grateful to be alive but I still wonder why me. And not someone else.

It's funny looking back at this comment. So for context, I started my postgrad and I was working and studying. So this year, I couldn't continue with my studies because of finance and not because I failed. My contract also ran out. So I entered this year not knowing what my future would be like. So many questions crossed my head. You feel so vulnerable and defeated because you did your best but you're taking loses. I'm a bit of long term planner so living day to day is hard.

I'm glad you found a connection with it and i hope things are going well now. I believe there is a reason for things turning out the way they do and we may never fully understand why. But God is there with you every step of the way. Sometimes it may be to save us from the fire and other times it may be to hold our hand as we walk through it. And i take comfort in knowing that.

I'm grateful for the time now. I realize now I was dealing with a lot, had a lot on my plate. Things are relatively the same but my own perspective and esteem is much more better. Sometimes we need a break more than we care to acknowledge.

''Why me''................I always ask myself the same question. But as they say in German ''du bist wer du bist'': you are who you are. So you must live with it. Cheers.
