Be My Eve

- Be My Eve -

Another year passed, and it ended in my tears,
No one saw me cry, nor cared about my fears.
If just one dear lady had tried to give her heart,
To end my loneliness, rather than tear me apart!
I would have done anything at all for such love.
Put her on a pedestal, marble white as a dove?
But art untouched is hardly an object of desire!
Love and passion, are things born of inner fire.
So that I would not do, for it be far too cold…
I would hold her in my arms, and kiss her bold.
Dance with her in the moonlight, mad as night?
Oh indeed I would, and we would be a sight…
People would talk of it for a long time, indeed,
As the purest expression of love as was freed!
And before the dawn breaks the magic spell…
Our passions would ignite like the fires of Hell.
In the darkness, our spirits, blazing like stars…
Would become a legend, like Venus and Mars.
Like a genie, so much is bottled away within…
Because so many treat passion as if it were sin!

Another year passed, and I fear I shall explode.
I cannot seal away my heart and let it corrode…
People want me to be silent and let destiny turn,
But love is my destiny, and in her flames I burn!
I would do anything, to slake the thirst I know…
For it burns like fire: and freezes like chill snow.
Only the passionate soul, suffers like unto this…
Never knowing peace while it hungers for bliss!
Too long in the shadows, too much for just one,
Share the shade with me, like a silk finely spun!
We’ll sip from a chalice of silver, and not gold,
Just to be different from this world that is old…
My soul is older, but my flesh is still too young,
To honor traditions, of which others have sung.
Let us make up our own, and forget the past…
One life is far too short, and time does not last.
Walk with me, dear girl, and you’ll be content,
I’ll share with you the universe, and firmament.
Too much have I hidden away as others laugh!
So much I can share, if you will share my path.

Another year passed, but why let it go in vain?
Why spend another year thinking of your pain!
Answer my call, for the hourglass cannot wait,
Give in to desire, and become my soul’s mate!
Life is like a sea far from many a friendly port;
We all defend our harbors by putting up a fort.
But soon comes the time to put cannons aside,
To build beautiful gardens in which we’ll abide.
Eden is not lost, if we keep creating it, anew…
With love as the creator, a course staying true!
You can spend a lifetime lost on lonely waves,
And we can lie unloved going into cold graves.
But that is not the way I wish to pass my time,
So come, be my Eve, knowing a love sublime!
Whilst the meadows are green, and sunlit fair,
Oh maid make merry, put flowers in your hair!
Let me show you all the places where they lie,
While still they bloom, beneath an azure sky…
Waiting, like me, for your touch to grace them.
Be my Eve, a goddess no god shall condemn!
