Counting blessings

Counting blessings in a rhyme
to the point I'll waste no time
Family, friends, and those who love me
a church, a home, a roof above me
food to eat and running water
grandkids, my sons, and loving daughters
my spouse, my health, a servants heart
to 'Love thy neighbor' and do my part
a running car, a store near by
a coat to wear to keep me dry
a garden plot to raise and reap
potatoes, tomatoes, squash and leaks
A bike, a television, keeps me amused
My dog to walk, some comfy shoes
a few bucks left over, that I call mine
to buy a gift, or go out to dine
Thankfulness that I give in Prayer
another day to breathe His air
My joy, my peace, would have no meaning
If into Him, I was not leaning
It all means nothing without the Word
Jesus, the Bible,have you heard?
He lived, He died, He was resurrected
God and Spirit are all connected
Repent, Love Jesus, He paid our price
That day,on the cross, His sacrifice
Count our blessings, let them uplift
But accepting Jesus, is our greatest gift.
