Guardian Owl of Tourmaline
guardian owl of tourmaline,
your palm-sized purpose
reveling in reconciliation,
carved compassion etched
upon intricate feather;
a gift most precious
given when our love
was still a thing
I’d swear by
your palm-sized purpose
reveling in reconciliation,
carved compassion etched
upon intricate feather;
a gift most precious
given when our love
was still a thing
I’d swear by

This is such a sweet poem. I love it. I also love that you included a picture of the owl. So cute!
Good luck in the comp!

Dear L,
“ a gift, most precious
given when our love
was still a thing
I’d swear by” if you’d written nothing before this it couldn’t have hit home as precisely as I interpreted this particular phrase.
This is a very lovely write and so moving. And the owl is adorable. All the best in the comp. H🌷

Can you tell I'm catching up on my reading? LOL I'm enjoying these power-packed offerings of brevity from you. And I'm a fan of owls.
"a gift, most precious" You don't really don't need this comma, which becomes evident when you play around with the wording

Palm sized purpose is sand through the fingers.
The evolution of love, from something you would swear by to something you learned from though, is well crystallized
