Image for the poem Granddad

Granddad's Lady

Granddad chased the women
They say he caught a few
Guess he wanted to have some fun
Before his time was through

While going through his papers
I found this little photo
It left me with some questions
So much I’d like to know

I wondered what her name was
If she was still alive
I wondered how he met her
How long their love survived

Then I felt my self get hard
For this lady from his past
She was surely dead and gone
But, his lust for her still lasts

While looking at her photo
I imagined them together
Two lovers in a motel room
Sharing in their pleasure

Was this a onetime thing
Or something often repeated?
I wondered if their spouses knew
The way that they had cheated

That night I saw myself with her
In a dream that was divine
I made love to granddad’s lady
Her photo I now enshrine
