Liquid metal metallic cravings

I really truly don't know
why
some things under the
sun and sky
attract and catch my
fancy
Quite queerly they
happen to be
hot melting smelting
solids
that melt into exquisite
liquids.
Take for instance heated
liquid gold
molten glass or molten
brass
and to watch magma
'neath the earth's fold
Ooh I love just about any
melting mass.
With similar bizarre
ecstasy and fascination
do I always watch
onscreen molten lava
Gliding in serpentine
turns, oblivious of my
admiration
Ah, I just love all that
golden molten mass .
Liquidised metal, liquid fire
I just don't ever tire
Sometimes I even have
such an eccentric craving
to watch just any solid
beauty melting smelting
that I satisfy this craving
by simply imagining
the honey to be some
liquid fire gold glowing
in a crystal clear jar and
liken it to
metallic gold syrup in
the furnace burning
As if it were stagnant
mini-lava
right before me churning !
As for other mesmeric
things
that I find real eye-
catching
are those which
everybody else finds
ravishing.
And they are in all shine
dazzling diamond dust
Glittery terrestrial gold
dust
in mankind's metallic
materialistic lust.!
Or Magical celestial stardust
in heavenly mould and cast
Btw I am allergic to earthly
dust!:)

The alchemy of your poem left me breathless. Love reading of the morphing of gold and other elements into a molten state. From lava to molten gold your evocation of the forms in a lava lamp takes me on a journey through the states of being in the earth that mesmerizes me. The detail of liquid metals you present is a thing of wonder. There is a spiritual nature here which is inescapable. And I love watching through your eyes as the solid turns to liquid.

Thanks soo much for fine comment, your comment was a bit too sublime for me with English being only a second language for me I guess.

I would imagine you'd enjoy the terminator films with Arnie too. There was lots of liquid moulding going on there.. ;-)

Love the flow of this poem Z
Especially while it appears to have form to the rhyme scheme without really holding to any rules
It was a great read

Aye ah yes my form and rhythm follows my muse instead of vice versa which makes my poems unconventional and unprofessional but some English poets said that since I can't follow known forms I should carry on with my own innovative blends for they said my poems could have a blend of forms such as triplets, couplets and quatrains which I only realise after they tell me.
Thanks soo much for still managing to enjoy the poem, I hope different is not bad, I really don't know how to stick to conventional usual known poetry forms at all, I don't think I could ever understand what they call a syllable count poem sth idylls or Sth.

It's a visually vivid stunning piece, the way you describe the metals and colors compared to things like honey and syrup to really stir up the senses. I've found myself watching a couple of videos from Australia when liquid aluminum is poured into an ant hill and then it's pulled out of the earth with this perfectly formed maze. Granted some folks are against that art; but the liquid form of these metals is something to be admired. You've done a really great job at guiding us through this verse with the rhyme and vivid descriptions.
Excellent work.
Excellent work.

Dear ZK,
Reading your poem called to mind so many incredible images of what you describe. I found I was relating to your words and seeing the beauty in all these instances. I’ve never seen melting metals but the honey reference enabled me to relate to the similarities and then I remembered glass. Hot glass being molded and shaped to create beautiful objects always captures my awe and fascination. There’s a purity in it that I don’t always find elsewhere. Creative and thoughtful write. H🌷

The syllabic harmonies are quite fluid, the unfolding of the diatribe has a feel of intimate confession, while maintaining control, which speaks of emotional intelligence and presence, lending the whole rather mellifluous dimensions. Metaphors seem a subtle and personal revelation. You close with that quite aside, which is charming. It's really lovely work and I thank you for directing me to it.

I got everything except diatribe, did you mean attack or harsh criticism by that??
Re: Re. Liquid metal metallic cravings
19th Dec 2020 2:14am
No I misused the word diatribe as I sometimes do, like I tend to misuse the word verbiage. Sometimes it happens, sorry about that lol. I meant more like a monologue, a single voice speaking to the audience.
