you promised me flowers

Speak to me.
Divide our frequencies and starve for plea.
Crawl back to where only you can see.
Shrivel in your skin and set me free.
Please.
Let me go back to who I was before you came.
Do you remember anything or are you freighted from shame?
Soft breaths against my neck.
Your energy is dripping wet.
Beautifully strange and chemically deranged.
So deprived and full of rage.
An ego that should be locked in a cage.
When did it begin?
The nights when I drank too much Gin?
Or was it that you’ve never had someone cosmically let you in.
I showed you something brighter within.
But a miserable soul will always be too afraid to stay.
It’s easier to throw your conscious away.
Rather than savoring a higher reality.
Keep exhaling and pulling at your brain.
A cigarette won’t light in the pouring rain.
You look so sweet when you’re drenched in pain.
Why didn’t you see I was trying to get you off this ride?
“Boys don’t cry.” God, you make me want to die.
You had enough tears for me to drown.
And when I did you didn’t even look down.
But I’ve picked myself off the ground, and stepped over the grove.
Full of dead roses that will never grow.
There’s not enough water in the world to bring them back.
I hope seeing that will make you crack.
And I won’t be there for it to unpack.
We can leave it at.
Nobody has to know how much of you is devoured.
And when they ask, I’ll just say you promised me flowers.
