Turn the tide
When grey depression rolls
creeps unseen
ghosting in behind the cheer
our spirits ebbing, downward slide
how can you turn the tide
When the road is all uphill
sing a solo song
never join the choir's throng
is someone there, to just confide?
how can you turn the tide
The warmth of seeing falling snow
feel the pinch, the first Jack frost
a painted tear melt the greasepaint
in the open trying to hide
how can you turn the tide
The ghost's that never let you rest
to see life pass , be so vexed
cling on to what's already gone
to look for life and not reside
how can you turn the tide
In the wash, its advance, retract
the pebbles wet, their shine attracts
the clatter as they interact
and we must rub as we abide
to somehow turn the tide
creeps unseen
ghosting in behind the cheer
our spirits ebbing, downward slide
how can you turn the tide
When the road is all uphill
sing a solo song
never join the choir's throng
is someone there, to just confide?
how can you turn the tide
The warmth of seeing falling snow
feel the pinch, the first Jack frost
a painted tear melt the greasepaint
in the open trying to hide
how can you turn the tide
The ghost's that never let you rest
to see life pass , be so vexed
cling on to what's already gone
to look for life and not reside
how can you turn the tide
In the wash, its advance, retract
the pebbles wet, their shine attracts
the clatter as they interact
and we must rub as we abide
to somehow turn the tide
