"Thankful"

"What are you thankful for this year?"
They ask that every year.
"Oh family and friends
and of course, pumpkin pie. LOL"
Don't make me gag.
Yes, I'm thankful for that.
But I'm not some
"Live. Laugh, Love." girl.

Peppermint comes to mind--
it always does for some reason.
My fellow loose-leaf tea junkies--
They make me feel sane.
Colorful pens and blank paper--
I have to get out my crazy somehow.
Common sense and having some--
I could do with a little more but at least I have some.
Books. Books. Books. Poetry. Stories--
Humanity broken down in a collection of words.
So much more--
I'm a grateful person, I swear.
