Savor the moments
You never know what you miss
Even the stupidest of arguments you will wish to hear again
I wake up and wish for a second we can discuss plans for the day
Maybe we will go to our favorite restaurant
Maybe go paint shopping
I miss little things
I miss your smell its slowly fading
I miss your kiss its been far to long
I miss your embrace
Things you dont realize until they are gone
I am still in disbelief
Slipped away
And gone forever
Our wedding day I will always remember
So many things went wrong
But when i saw you everything was right
I wish i could have saved you like you saved me
If I could i would hold you and kiss you through the night.

I have had that kind of regret 'I could have saved you like you saved me' in connection with a woman who was a fellow swimmer in a pool where I passed out and had to be rescued from drowning, who told me she had prayed for me (succesfilly it turned out) while I was being rescued and was pleased to see me walk and swim again. However she had a history of mental illness I did not properly know about and a decade later she hanged herself, to my shock, a few months after I last saw her alive when she told me she was 'depressed and I hate it'.
