Christmas Essential
baby, it's been a year
and we say that every year
but it got worse
and I can't stop these tears
no, I cannot stop these tears
so for tonight
I will cry
but I swear
I'll smile on Christmas
don't want to be another Grinch
that forgets the meaning
I been buying lots of things
hoping on that day
you'll feel what we been needing
I got you a giant bear
and a necklace to wear
even got you a car
for you can drive till your hearts desire
and I know what you'll say
you don't need a thing
all you want is me by your side
and that is why I want to give you the world
baby, it's been a year
think I need to get it together
I'll ready the lights
but we can decorate the tree together
put up the stockings
then wrap up our gifts
it's still some time to go
but I want at least one good day this year
so I'm planning ahead
to make Christmas essential
even if it's just us

Thanks, friend. I was thinking of releasing this closer to the holiday, but a lot of feelings lately have been building up and I'm just ready to do something that helps me move forward.
