A SUDDEN INSIGHT'S COGNIZANT GLIMPSE  (11-17-2020, 12:07am, Palm Springs, California)

as i  
continue  
to age
to live
learn
evolve
and grow  
along my  
lifes  
increasingly  
accelerated  
journey here  
with  
sixty seven  
now just  
around  
the bend  
only  
two and  
a half  
quick months  
away  
this sudden  
brief insight  
just occurred  
to me  
here  
upon seeing  
my naked  
bodys reflection  
in the  
bathroom mirror  
from whence  
this spontaneous  
seed thoughts  
new poem  
sprang forth  
and so  
quickly  
arose  
to say  
and express  
this here  
now  
i  
await in  
the kindness  
of shadows  
i  
hide from  
the cruelties  
of light  
seems  
so strange  
to hear  
these words  
arise  
coming  
up  
from me  
here now  
as i  
enter ever  
more deeply  
into these  
too quickly  
rising shallows  
of these  
my latter  
days years  
for as  
i suddenly  
recall here  
just now  
in this  
brief  
fleeting moment  
of my  
present  
looking back  
seems it  
was almost  
always nearly  
the opposite  
of that  
throughout  
all the  
years  
of my  
earlier youth  
for my  
shadows  
back then  
were a  
different kind  
of darkness  
altogether  
in which  
all forms  
of cruelties  
lived  
expressed  
and  
acted themselves  
out  
so invasively  
in my  
young life  
while  
all light  
on the  
other hand  
at least  
as far  
as i  
can recall  
or remember  
here now  
from way  
back then  
was my  
kindest  
and truest  
of allies  
and friends  
but what  
should that  
insight  
mean  
to me  
here now  
overall  
in context  
to where  
im presently  
still at  
in this  
ongoing  
even greater  
sweet mysterys  
more quickly  
unfolding  
rich tapestry  
of what  
i now  
sense  
and perceive  
as my  
increasingly  
waning
though still yet
unfolding
ongoing
ever
mysterious
strangely
unique
present
life
