Rollercoaster
Some days are emotional rollercoasters
So many ups and downs that they make me physically sick
Extreme highs that always end in me plummeting down farther than before
My head spins with happiness and pain
Both constantly trying to take the reins
Its almost like I have no control
Like I'm on a ride that I just can't get off
I try so hard to find a good middle but when I do, I'm thrown into another curve
And there never seems to be an end
Like I'm cured to ride this thing forever

Your analogy with the rollercoaster nicely captures the extreme swings from highs and lows that one can experience with their emotions in a short time. There is always the hope the longer you ride the more you get used to it, and it smooths itself out.

Yes, sedatives, maybe...but these can be addictive, so best consult a health pro first and see what could be done.
