there is a depth of unawareness
a numbness shall we say
to her surroundings
something so palpable
no matter how hard she tries
how close she lets others
get to her
nothing feels real
a daily out of body experience
if you will allow
yet, she is indeed intact
waking and sleeping
in a dream like state
that leaves her yearning
for something that seems
so untouchable
she longs to wake up from this
to have something snap
her back into awareness
for this to go away
she longs to
feel again
something
anything
besides the tears
that swell
for no reason

JeJe, for years I have suffered the journey of your loss with you. To lose someone so precious to your being is traumatic, to say the least. Know there are those lifting you up in love and peace. You will cut the cords of attachment to the pain when you are ready to heal. Letting go can be very hard because we don't want to let go of a love so deep. It feels like a betrayal. Therefore, it is imperative to understand that letting go does not equate to forgetting. On the contrary, it enhances memory.
Once we do let go, we realize we remained in that space of pain out of loyalty to the one we loved. What we didn't realize, was that cutting the cords to the attachment of pain releases us to move forward, taking them with us into the joy they contributed to our lives, co-creating the person we are today. When you remember, it will be fondly; it will be joyously; and it will be forever.

This is a poignant and powerful poem on suffering J. Sadly the pain of grief lingers on...they say that time heals all wounds...but the scar always remains.

Grief can sometimes be a tricky mistress. In some cases she hangs around, making it difficult to see past her. We then get stuck, as a record on repeat. Coming out of grief doesn't mean we forget, it means we are allowing ourselves the freedom to move on. Very powerful piece.

Thank you so much Eerie for your beautiful and thoughtful comments .. very much appreciated .. grief is definitely a tricky mistress .. it can be a bit of a rollercoaster at times .. it is how we handle the ride of life that really matters ... sometimes it is a hanging on for dear life and other times it is throwing our arms in the air and just letting it be what it is .. x
