Phoney Cheer

This place is about as exciting
as a play park
without swings
and about as loud as a door bell
that no longer rings
and as cheerfull
as songbird
that is forced to sing .
Elephants could jump higher
than the people in here
even if it was on fire
they'd show no fear .
Brass statues
are glued to the delf
as though they hated
their dust clad selves .
To enlighten
you falsely brighten .
Vision is blurred
by expensive beer
the thing is
you are wrongly and ineptly
full of phoney cheer  .
