Why is it that those we love
never realize how much they can hurt us?
Never realize how much power
they hold high above our heads.
Loving them so deeply is our downfall
because the pain they can inflict, hurts more than anyone else.
Seeing the ones you love
fight with each other is hard to bare.
Them, completely oblivious
to those who watch in silence, not daring to interfere.
Why is it that those we love
never stop for a minute and look around?
If they did, they'd see the fear and horror
shown so blatantly in our watering eyes.
Maybe then they'd see
just how pointless their fighting can be.
And how scary it can look
to those who all we can do is watch.
