The Fashion Police

Life is ....
what it is
beautiful
It's sacred, too

And then...
here comes
the Fashion Police
lurking in so many places
Oh gawd, they're here
I think they are actually
smirking in my direction

Oh yeah...
Finally, after years
of what I thought
was updating my wardrobe
with lots of matching pieces
here they come
to embarrass me

I'm sure ....
they have
come to arrest me
or even worse
ruin my life
for some ungodly sin

They....
had the gall
to tell me that
only older women
like myself, of course
still wear matching outfits
and that those
In the know
even wear shoes and
purses in contrasting colors

I...
Never saw
This one coming
I swear that I didn't know
I never got the memo that
 we women were in
for such a drastic change

So....
Sue me you facist
Fashion Police
I really have to say
that's all messed up
They only blinked their eyes
It's when I blurted out "Who cares!"
they slapped them
handcuffs on my wrists.
