Tapestry
I used to think
that the world
was just like me.
I thought
the rest of the world
lived the way I did,
That everyone believed
what I believe.
And yet,
the older I get
the more I see
how we are
much more like
the delicate weaves
in a beautiful human tapestry.
Our cultures
are rich, vibrant, and unique
for every country,
every province,
state, and city.
It is okay
to view differently,
and to not agree.
But, to take from one,
is to take from all,
and that is how
it should be seen.
I love my fellow man
as I love me,
I don't
have to understand
another's views
to live in peace.
that the world
was just like me.
I thought
the rest of the world
lived the way I did,
That everyone believed
what I believe.
And yet,
the older I get
the more I see
how we are
much more like
the delicate weaves
in a beautiful human tapestry.
Our cultures
are rich, vibrant, and unique
for every country,
every province,
state, and city.
It is okay
to view differently,
and to not agree.
But, to take from one,
is to take from all,
and that is how
it should be seen.
I love my fellow man
as I love me,
I don't
have to understand
another's views
to live in peace.
