November's Trees
November’s tress,
brooded, bent, and thin
are lined, like staggering old men,
atop the hill,
in leaning picket rows
along the river runs,
and gallows in the glen.
Do they remember still
their Summer’s green ferocity?
brooded, bent, and thin
are lined, like staggering old men,
atop the hill,
in leaning picket rows
along the river runs,
and gallows in the glen.
Do they remember still
their Summer’s green ferocity?
