 Once'pon a time, I had a slightly intoxicated yuppie golfy lookin dude accidently kick the antique wooden crate that i used as a stand for my cash receptacle as he swayed by with 4-5 other folks he was with. They laughed at him. He got right in my face & said, via wafting alcohol fumes, "You fuck. I coulda broken my foot. I'm a lawyer & i could sue your ass to hell you bastard. If you can't work or do real business, you deserve to starve. Get the fuck outta here..." & seemed to have more he wanted to say, 'cept one'a the ladies (wife?) grabbed him saying "f'goddsake leave him alone".

......few minutes later, one'a the other guys came back & dropped a 5spot, saying, "he's really-not-that-way...just a little drunk...you know how it is".

Uh'huh, yes sir...bless ye & yr buddy...../ & blessed be the many who were (albeit most at arms+ length) kind to me & blessed be them who weren't... but lordy, the disappearances of so many of my friends & 'admirers' from my 'glory days' still stuns me wit how naive i'd been regarding the 'stigma' of street-musicing among 'real people'....& i never was totally homeless (always made enough to rent small room), never got drunk (25yrs sober), never went (notice'ably [ha!] ) crazy....all of this shortly after 5 m.i.'s, 6 bypasses, & at least one t.i.a.
