Eyes wide Shut

Eyes open wide,  
a permanent nightfall takes over my vision,  
as hard as i try to see, to focus,
there's nothing to see.  
Darkness consumes me,  
my senses redundant..  
 
Crouched down in a corner,  
soundlessly crying out for help,  
but no one can hear,  
a river falls from my face
from tear after tear..  
 
Empty reflections,  
the time filled with dread..
thoughts and emotions
tormenting my head.  
 
The darkness playing host
orchestrating proceedings
and directing events,
taking control of my destiny,  
thats the power it presents.  
 
I sit and I prey  
for a glimmer of light,  
a ray of hope..  
An escape from this stage,  
A knife or a rope..  
 
But all I can do is sit here and hope,  
a change of fortune,  
keeping optimism afloat..  
Anticipating,  
waiting,  
for lightness to shine through,  
radiate on this room,  
and guide me out of this tomb..
