Dear S,
Struggling to breathe from this poem. You’ve so adequately described what the panic level would be for suffocation I’m trying to catch by breath. Fear takes hold in so many formats and the vision of the poor horses afraid and trying to escape is very vivid in your write. I can’t help wondering if you’ve seen this happen? H🌷

I get laryngospasms. They are worst at night, when I wake up not being able to breathe. I’ve learned that I just have to ride it out.

Oh how scary! I hope learning to ride them out will ride them out of town for good. H🌷

Well, damn! That painted a vivid picture... and evoked such a strong sense of panic. Your comments about your laryngospasms really helped me to further understand your struggle and the underlying meaning of your poem. You chose a clever way to enlighten us to the feeling you experience... nicely done, Kumar.

A very difficult situation indeed. Does it ever go away or is that a permanent situation for you and no way out?

Thank you for asking. With a combination of healthier eating and the usage of a wedge pillow, I have managed to avoid it for a while now. Hopefully can keep doing so, but if not, at least I now know that the counterintuitive but effective solution is to hold your breath (sounds kind of lol, right? but really it means don't try to breathe) and after a few seconds I will be okay.

Thank you again! My mom is 75, and she's been dealing with this for a very long time, so she is my model of courage in this regard.
