Death of Romance

He looked her in the eyes
She could only return a blank stare
They cared deeply for each other
But it ends there

She couldn't give what she doesn't have
As much as he could bare
the weight for both of them
She knew that it just isn't fair

So she pushed him away
trying to hide the pain
of hurting someone you care about
She was trying to spare him the weight
of having an unrequited love

However it was too late
He had fallen for her
He had known her like no other
Yet the path they were on
couldn't continue in the same direction

They had hit a falk in the road
Each with only one direction to go to

It wasn't simple,
They couldn't just be there for each other
When one seeks the world
Whilst the other seeks a moment

When time had seperated them
For so long that they became different people
Randomly reconnecting only to find
That only one has feelings for the other
And the only thing on offer
Is a support structure

Romance died that day
For once the belief in it was suspended
All that the other had
Was a broken heart and the pain
Of knowing that there isn't anyone for you

So let the games begin!
