Old Grey Shed

As the frost grows on that old shed we built that summer
The weathered wood we've tried our best to hide
The warped floors creak and the faded doors squeak
But it's filled with all the treasures we left inside

I remember when that old grey shed was young
And the rotted boards were both sturdy and strong
We were both bold and brave, and we didn't behave
And the memories we made were never wrong

Chorus::
Cause that's the way life goes
There's nothing wrong with growing old
We do what we can
Then leave it for the next generation to follow
We show them what is right
We teach them how to fight
And hope our words weren't hollow
And that they do the same for their boys and girls

There's a bright and shiny new shed right beside it
The vibrant colors can be seen for miles
It's filled with lots of toys for our two growing boys
And it's always opened with big wide smiles

One of these days that old grey shed will leave us
And the treasures, we'll save what we can
After all the storms we've weathered, we'll grow old together
And we'll watch as each of our boys become men

Chorus
