I figured this bit of unfinished    
business known as a poem              
could use a striking title;            
already in consideration are:            
             
As Columbus has his Day in court            
             
---catchy, but also factually based            
             
Disingenous Person's Day            
             
---a play on "Indigenous People's Day"            
             
Dominion Republic            
             
---a play on "Dominican Republic"            
             
Cortez Wasn't Such A Bad Guy Either            
             
---okay ... now I'm just being an ass            
             
Seriously, I can do this              
all day if you like              
---doesn't really take much            
effort to come up with              
*something worth celebrating*              
in a handful of words, such as              
             
Let's be grateful        
for this wonderful land            
preserved with great care        
by the remarkable Americans        
who already lived here before  
ships arrived from Europe
