Around about

That's right; just watch the roulette wheel
and the croupier flicks the ball
and so you take the chance and bet a deal
the flutter as you watch it fall

Always remember excitement's needs
the flames surround and numbers bounce
fountains played, the coins we spent without a heed
palpitations unannounced

They hang dust covered memories
swirling lover's as they danced
bride and groom in joined identities
the scales so tipped in that balance

Gather the raked coals, of dalliances  past
when old age wrinkles, greying locks tick-tock
no latent heat that lasts and lasts
and youth's love's, long gone, Lego blocks

Once built and then stored in a box
the pain as one trapped underfoot
and let imagination: time out fox
build that again and feel so good
