Outgrown
Have we outgrown the one thing we share and own?
Was there reason for us to linger on the doubts of the love we’ve shown?
Since when does it take time to make time for each other?
Hope that our lives sync up. Next week? No, don’t bother.
When the flame first ignited the signs were instant.
Alas the flame is on wake, thus the signs are distant.
Love teaches us to follow our heart.
But what to do when it’s impaled with glass shards?
My sights became blurry, obstructed, like an unnecessary watermark.
When life opens a new deck, you’re bound to pick at least one bad card.
We knew it wouldn’t be easy but never expected it to be this hard.
