So Far Apart

I've lost most of my friends and family
Because we just can't seem to agree
They argued against what I felt was right
I can't understand what their values could be

My parents taught me right from wrong
I assume theirs did too
How can we be so far apart
A chasm you could drive a truck through

Chorus:
Both sides thinking they're right
One sides gotta be wrong
I'll take the one who lies the least
After all I wrote this song
What you believe all depends on what
Channel you watch on TV
Whether you watch Fox or OAN
Or CNN like me

I've gotta an Uncle who says he's proud to be white
Well, I'm proud of who I am
But whites just a color
Don't make a black man less of a man

My Daddy taught me to wear another man's shoes
To think like they do
My Uncles shoes must be way to tight
For him to have so narrow a view

Chorus

I've got friends who thinks God is on their side
And everything will be just fine
So they put a heathen in the White House
Their Bible must be different than mine

They say God works in mysterious ways
Well, I think the Devil does too
Time will tell which of us is right
But the whole thing leaves me blue

Chorus
