Stain Upon Ugly Stain

Get off of my skin, I can't feel!
Shread the flesh from my neck
For those who embrace hate
Have painted my soul blood red
With the memory of lives that matter
And only Justice can wash away the stain
But her robes have been stripped from her body
Set afire in cities of red, white and black
The pain pours from my eyes, blinding me
Yet showing me the plain truth
Of why white must shout BLACK LIVES MATTER
Because so many still cling to a long dead past
Where they believed blacks were not people at all
So the murders they commit are not murders to them
Why only the bullets that threatened white lives
Are worthy of a reckless charge while innocent life does not count
Life after life, stain upon stain, I am blemished by the inhumanity of my color
Closer and closer the thunder roars and the lightening strikes
Protesters steps are drowned by the sound of lie after lie
Spewed through the teeth of one who speakes with forked tongue
A serpent slithering, predicting false outcomes
Hungry only for power and money no matter the cost
When the cost does not matter to him or his kind
I have the misfortune to have been born under a flag that offers me white rights
My only recourse to shout out the truth
Until words fail completely and the shooting begins firing at me
Justice is naked, her robes set afire and the balance leans crooked beside her
Rejecting my white privilege is not enough when stains still appear on my skin
When UNDER GOD is spoken by a Nation where Racism is pledged in it's original sin
