Gothic Cough

In quotations of the poet's dark chowder
sluicing across the moon of a gothic cough
hanging on to a thread of my muse's girdle
like an itsy bitsy desperate spider
snubbing the eternal broth of Hell
and dipping into berry wine's almandine
of mythical potion and opium's daydreams
touching your breasts of marble's wall eye
swimming in your veins, sweet Aspartame
in the catacombs of my den abbey
of a friar's candle light of verse chatter
in quotations of the poet's dark chowder
sluicing across the moon of a gothic cough.
