Image for the poem Box

Box

if I could I would place
a wooden box full of stars
on the front porch
so that we can dance
barefoot
late at night in
tall grass and chirping crickets
and listen carefully
how the sun sings
to the moon
while our promises
waltz in the sky
and may you
know that every
lifetime hereafter
with every shooting star
I will wish on you,
for more moments
where you try
to steal my heart
While I open
the window of
my soul delicately
just for you
