Image for the poem light bulb

light bulb

your void has made
my heart a chapel
a holy place
with empty wooden benches
and closed doors
and when I find the key someday
and confront the unfamiliar
I'll hang your shadow
behind the front door
so you can dance down
the hallway one last time
before I replace the
light bulb on the porch
