Chasing Amy

It started out as an innocent flirtation
but when he and Amy's eyes met
and she smiled wide at him he knew
he had to have her for his own

To say that he was drawn to Amy
would clearly be an understatement
there was something about her that intrigued him but he couldn't say what

He went after her hard and fast
leaving her with no doubt he wanted her
but it didn't seem to matter much
he saw it was only driving them apart

It wasn't supposed be this way
Amy turned the chase into a game
she was playing too hard to get
he only had himself to blame

He finally sat her down and said
she was so impossible to get
he asked her what she wanted from him
she said something he'd never forget

"Nothing!" was all she said.
