A Flower In A Lapel

People are living in fear
Laid-off from a crisis they say
Terror in the streets, just outside their door
Some may think the end is near

Propaganda is all the news
Those who are right are wrong
Those who are wrong are right
Don’t judge until you walked in their shoes

A positive test can be such a task
Fourteen days in the hole
Locked in a political prison
With nothing but just a masque

Teachers no longer inspire or pray
A hand over heart is a penalty in the game
Systemic racism is just the walking dead
In the end the smoke just drifts awayl

We’re all the same no matter the prism’s ray
We all desire freedom, family and fun
People of hate always want to debate
People of love will never decay

Whether or not you believe in heaven or hell
The words in red are always the same
We never know who’s name is written in dust
Drop the stone and tend to the flower in your lapel
