[ Spiritual ] Meditation
The conscious stream of thought
waterfalling into your mind's
collective resevoir is an EPIC tale
but a terribly inarticulate story
as stanzas from a dozen old poems
daily are emptied into a single basin
blender where the reactive running
commentary rampant from Lemming's
Lookout ends up in the mix
Consider hitting the PAUSE button
before going over the cliff
again;
Thelma and Louise will never get their
sequel if you keep writing them off
with more script changes about how
the fast food drive-thru ALWAYS
screws up your order with pickles
on the hamburger
Pull over, park, shut your eyes
and breathe
What do you really want
this Life to be?

I have never understood those who continually climb the cliff to go over it once again; however, I am pretty certain I was among those numbers at one time ( or another ).
Those monostichs and final couplet are golden in this. I get the feeling you are still revising, so don't want to offer too much at this point.

Thank you. 😊 I might touch it up here and there if a brainstorm thunders up something fresh.
I'm just discovering the benefits of what hardly qualifies as meditation and is more just a throwing out of the anchor for a few minutes a day.
And if it wasn't for Poetry helping me to focus, my mind would likely look like a series of Jackson Pollock paintings together in a wastebasket after being shredded.

That Thelma and Louise reference is brilliant (though I've never really watched it but know the ending).
In retrospect, I have scratched my head and felt if I was missing something, or felt I wasn't smart enough to understand it. Maybe I'm picking up some much more in brainwaves and now I have a deeper connection in picking up the tracks.

There is, Wally. If you shut up your mind for 15 minutes or so a day, it allows the Universe to slip in and slap Sticky Notes onto your Inner Forehead about what you could be doing or writing next.
