Much Too Heavy
Unaware of her beauty
bereft of all hope
self-enslaved by duty
hands bloodied by rope
Despondent goddess
face muddy, hair disheveled
in stained wedding dress
by obsession bedeviled
Cross breathtaking landscapes
she tugs at her grief
casket of pain
on steep terrain scrapes
weight inhumane
all happiness thief
Finally choosing
to not be slain by the dead
instead to start livng
the way clear in her head
As with Spring's advent
thaws the ice and snow
so will grief's pall relent
making fertile the heart
letting life's love grow
Reaching sorrow's summit
releasing cruel tether
down cascade of tears
she lets her past plummet
leaving her soul
to float as a feather
bereft of all hope
self-enslaved by duty
hands bloodied by rope
Despondent goddess
face muddy, hair disheveled
in stained wedding dress
by obsession bedeviled
Cross breathtaking landscapes
she tugs at her grief
casket of pain
on steep terrain scrapes
weight inhumane
all happiness thief
Finally choosing
to not be slain by the dead
instead to start livng
the way clear in her head
As with Spring's advent
thaws the ice and snow
so will grief's pall relent
making fertile the heart
letting life's love grow
Reaching sorrow's summit
releasing cruel tether
down cascade of tears
she lets her past plummet
leaving her soul
to float as a feather
