Faded Glory

The silence of rhapsody befalling my threshold
Commencing to mirages of bewildered sentiments
Faint caresses as gentle as a forgotten breeze
Closing my eyes, inhaling falsehood of dying embers

Exhaling yesterday’s waning promises
Emotional bleeding of crucified hearts
Resurrected in the moment as flickering flames dance against gusting winds

Hopes scattered reduced to minuscule elements
Displaced unity marveling in misgivings of dust
Resonates of breathing cavorting in the realm of seasons

Temporal connections veiled in chasms of solitude
Conducted faraway dreams where eyes are comprised to spectate

Mouths muted in refusals to relish
Ears of utterance’s reprisal refusing to uphold fate
Touched upon the bosom of waking realities
Shelved in a tomb of destiny

Dissolving emotional cords of mental nourishment
Depleted, uncompleted
Souls created as one, genuflected and defeated
