I once entered into this kind of contract and had it held around my neck like it was a noose after I left.
I currently don't have a contract but I'm much more committed without a piece a paper.

Exactly. Tough lessons are supposed to be learned from, then left behind for the future, not repeated ad nauseum. Sounds like she's just looking for a fall-back until she moves on again.
