Nothing Is As It Was

Nor will it be the same again
except for knowing no one
gets everything they desire
it's folly to expect it when
you're only a part of the human race
so it was not the turtle but the hare
that saved the race that dreadful day
Still moving at a snail's pace the turtle
Is mainly concerned with saving face
to each his own who were but alone
having hot tea and little cakes
So nothing will ever be the same
until history repeats itself again
