An angel’s voice

Her voice
slid right through me,
laying me bared
to my core.

Silken softness
whispering in my ears,
reverberating
down my spine.

I shivered
uncontrollably,
her wrapping my soul
in her melodies.

How could I
have spent my life
never knowing
this sweet siren’s song?

She continued
to ravish me
with the honeyed lines
that so easily tripped
off her tongue.

Our chemistry
made it feel easy and effortless,
as my heart fell swoon
to her entrapments
(of my will).

And when her departure
left the echoing silence
to fill every nook and cranny
of my being,
I knew
l ways hers

Forever.
