Yep; everyone sees through their own filter, Dan'o. It is virtually impossible to find an unbiased person in this world. But, they do exist!

when isherwood wrote the line "I am a camera", implying his was an impartial eye, I dare say he thought it was so, bless him. one admires the attempt.

yup. There may be "moments" fr the precious few who are "open" to it. But there's no human who maintain that state of psychic impartiality full time.
